BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – On Tuesday (Apr. 9), the Mansfield Mountaineers softball team (11-17, 2-16 PSAC East) finished their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) road trip with a midweek doubleheader with Bloomsburg (20-13, 9-7 PSAC East). The Huskies pulled out the sweep, 7-0 and 10-2.

GAME 1: Bloomsburg 7 – Mansfield 0

Bloomsburg started off the Tuesday throw down with two first inning runs after four hits before the first three outs. Another RBI single in the bottom of the second gave Bloomsburg the early 3-0 lead.

Sticking to the plan, their third RBI single of the day brought their small ball batting to a 4-0 edge after the fifth.

The Huskies finished off the Eastern Division scoring with three more crossing the plate, including a two-run triple to take game one, 7-0.

Emma Wonsick, Madison Bailey, and Melissa Demo were all credited with a hit in the first seven innings of the doubleheader.

GAME 2: Bloomsburg 10 – Mansfield 2 (5 innings)

Mansfield started out with an early 2-0 lead after the first inning. Demo scored off Caydence Macik's fielder's choice and Kayla Vonstein scored on a wild pitch right after.

Bloomsburg dropped another RBI single in the bottom of the first to light up the scoreboard. An RBI triple in the bottom of the second tied up the conference clash at 2-2.

The Huskies dished out two more runs in the bottom of the third to take the 4-2 before adding their last six runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the series and complete the Tuesday sweep, 10-2.
