EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Mountaineers women's soccer team (0-7-3, 0-7-1 PSAC East) fell to the Warriors of East Stroudsburg (5-2-3, 3-2-3 PSAC East) by a final score of 5-0 in Wednesday (Oct. 9) night's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division match-up.
The Warriors got the game's opening goal in the third minute after capitalizing on a Mountaineer turnover from their end.Â
East Stroudsburg added a second goal in the 26th minute, burying a shot in the top left corner to double their lead.
Just three minutes later ESU scored their third of the game off a volley from the left edge of the box to go ahead 3-0. Â
In the 61st minute, Brynn Knepp struck the crossbar on a shot from outside the box narrowly missing the best Mountaineer chance of the night.Â
ESU added two goals in the 77th and 83rd minutes to cap off the 5-0 win over the Mounties.Â
Alyssa Shuman finished with 10 saves and Knepp led the Mountaineers in shots.
