MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Mansfield soccer team (0-8-3, 0-8-1 PSAC East) was defeated by the Millersville Marauders (6-3-1, 5-3-1 PSAC East) on Saturday (Oct. 12) afternoon by a final score of 5-0.
Millersville found the opening goal in the ninth minute thanks to a through ball that put the Marauders one-on-one with the Mountie keeper and beat the goalie to the left of the net.
Kerrah Clymer tried to equalize in the 14th minute with a shot on goal but the Millersville goalkeeper made a calm save to maintain their advantage.
Millersville added a second in the 26th, finding the bottom right corner to double their advantage.
A third first-half goal for the Marauders came in the 33rd minute as they extended their lead.
At halftime, the Mounties trailed 3-0 as they recorded just one shot on goal in the half.
The Marauders added a fourth and fifth quickly into the second half to move their advantage to 5-0 over Mansfield.
The best Mountie chance came in the 72nd minute when Taylar Luckenbill struck the crossbar off a free kick opportunity.
Clymer led the Mountaineers with one shot on goal.
Quelyn Nepa, Taylar Luckenbill, and Clymer each recorded a shot.
