MANSFIELD, Pa. - Mansfield Sprint Football capped off the Homecoming doubleheader as they welcomed Saint Thomas Aquinas to Karl Van Norman Field on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Mountianeers (1-2) rushed for 346 yards as a team and earned a 58-14 homecoming victory over the Spartans (1-2)
The Mounties struck first on a meticulous drive that went 14 plays 78 yards in 9:45 seconds. That was caped off with a
Cahsid Raymond seven yard scamper to go up 7-0.
After a three and out Raymond found Latrenton Randle on a 37 yard pass to go up 13-0. That touchdown moved Raymond atop the career passing touchdown mark.
Raymond added another score before STAC got on the board with a 11 yard passing touchdown. Mansfield was up 20-6.
Marcus Quaker found
Marcus Melle for a 30 yard pass play and the Mounties turned a fumble into a 36 yard field goal to lead at the half 30-6.
In the second half Manfield was able to capitalize of two interceptions leading to a Quaker and Raymond touchdown runs.
Raymond got his fourth and
Braylon Fantaski punched in runs in the fourth to finish with a Mountaineer victory of 58-14.
Raymond accounted for 91 yards on the ground, 56 receiving yards and the 37 yard pass.
Jameson Ricigliano Jr. rushed for 106 yards on 21 carries. Mansfield as a team ran the ball 57 times.
Brady Deneen,
Noah Bennett, and
Chase Thompson each had an interception on the day.

Mansfield hits the road next week, traveling to Caldwell, New Jersey for a match up with the Cougars. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 12.
