WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers soccer team (0-10-3, 0-10-1 PSAC East) fell to the West Chester Golden Rams (8-4-0, 7-4-0 PSAC East) on Saturday (Oct. 19) afternoon by a final score of 6-0.
The Golden Rams attack started quickly, registering four shots in the first six minutes, including the opening goal to take a 1-0 advantage over the Mountaineers.
WCU got a second goal on their sixth shot of the game in the 10th minute to double their advantage.
West Chester scored their third of the first fifteen minutes at the 13:44 mark, taking a commanding 3-0 lead.
Mansfield's first opportunity came in the 19th minute but the WCU keeper saved Quelyn Nepa's shot on goal.
In the 20th minute, West Chester took a 4-0 lead as they slotted home their fourth of the first half.
An early goal in the second half for WCU made the game 5-0 in favor of the Golden Rams.
Sarah Rader had another Mountie shot on goal in the 64th minute but the WCU keeper was there to keep the Mountaineers scoreless.Â
Four minutes later, West Chester scored their second of the half and extended their lead to 6-0.
Nepa and Rader led the Mountaineers with a shot on goal apiece.
Alyssa Shuman made 11 saves on the day.
