WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The Mansfield Mountaineers men's basketball team was bested on the road by West Chester 83-73 on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Three Mansfield starters were in double figures.
Manir Waller and
Michael Dickson had 14 points apiece and
Scott Woodring had 13 points. Waller also lead the team in rebounds with six.

The Mounties (6-12, 4-9 PSAC East) and the Golden Rams (12-6, 9-3 PSAC East) traded baskets early in the contest with neither being able to pull away. The Mounties took a lead on a
Gabe Perez three-point shot, going up 17-16.

Mansfield kept it close as they stayed with in a bucket or got the game tied but were unable to take the lead the remainder of the first half. The Golden Rams took the largest first half lead in the final 3 minutes, as they lead by seven before two back-to-back Woodring buckets in the final minute, the score 33-28.

The Mountaineers were unable to regain the lead in the second half as the Golden Rams found steady scoring. They outscored Mansfield 40-29 to find their largest lead of the game by a score of 73-57.

Mansfield did get additional scoring from the bench as Perez earned five of his eight points and
Ty Barrett scored eight points, but the final score ended 83-73.Â
