LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers' Women's Soccer team scored three first-half goals before netting another in the second to cap off a 4-0 win over Lincoln University (Pa.).
Senior
Bailey Dockman opened the scoring on the 2023 season off a Mansfield corner in the fifth minute. Freshman
Aleigha Rieppel was credited with the assist.
Six minutes later, sophomore
Quelyn Nepa buried a header into the bottom right corner to extend the Mountaineer lead to two. Rieppel recorded her second assist of the game.
Lincoln (Pa.) transfer
Parker Moss found the net against her former team in the 29th minute to give the Mountaineers a 3-0 lead before the half.
In the 55th minute, sophomore
Lauren Straub slotted home a penalty kick to finish the Mansfield scoring.
Goalkeepers,
Samantha Merklin and senior
Faith Cameron, combined for the clean sheet.
The win marks back-to-back season opening wins for the first time since the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Lincoln University (Pa.) goalkeeper Ariel Reyes made ten saves on the day.
