NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Mansfield field hockey team (2-0) completed their weekend sweep at the Dora Metrelis Field Hockey Classic after a 6-0 shutout over St. Michael's (0-2). The Mounties lineup placed five goalscorers, including two off the bench today.
Saramae Radel highlighted the Mansfield offense today, sending home two goals and four shots on goal. The captain sent home the first goal of the game with an assist from Kalin Duke to take an early 1-0 lead.
Taking the 1-0 lead into halftime, Alexis Bell scored the second goal of the game for Mansfield to hold a 2-0 advantage before the final quarter
The final fifteen minutes saw the Mountaineers erupt for four goals to end the weekend with the 6-0 victory.Â
Alex Esterling and Ashtyn Price knocked in two goals in two minutes to increase their lead to four. Duke and Radel finished off the weekend with the last two goals
Mansfield's offense sent 35 shots off on the day, including 24 shots on goal and earned 20 penalty corners.
August Lewis earned another career shutout today to help her inch closer to the program record.

Mansfield heads on the road to Kutztown University on Saturday, September 9th. The Mounties face the Golden Bears for a 2 p.m. start.
