ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Mansfield Mountaineers sprint football (0-2) team fell on the road to Navy 45-0, on Friday night, Sept. 29.
The Midshipman (2-0) got off to a quick start using great field position to score on their first four drives.
Marvens Ravix had a strip sack recovered by Mansfield sprint football's all-time leading tackler
Matt Robert.
The Mounties were unable to capitalize and were forced to punt, leading to a Navy score. The Midshipmen lead 35-0 at the half.
Navy added ten points across the second half and took the game by a score of 45-0.
Gavin Hinman collected 16 tackles just a pair shy of the school record for in game tackles, and sits him tied for third in that category. Robert added 12 tackles and
Connor Casterline had eight.
Levi Wright was 6-13 for 60 yards in relief in the game with
Ethan Cina collecting 29 receiving yards.
Chase Thompson averaged 33.9 yards per punt including a 51 yarder.
The Mountaineers are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 7 as they welcome Caldwell University to Karl Van Norman Field for Pink Out.
