Luckenbill's Brace Leads Mounties Past Raiders

MANSFIELD, Pa. - Behind Taylar Luckenbill's career day the Mansfield Mountaineers women's soccer team (3-4, 2-3 PSAC) earned their third win on the young season Saturday afternoon against Shippensburg (1-6, 1-4 PSAC).

After Halftime Luckenbill and the Mountaineer offense thrived. Luckenbill was able to capitalize on a Mansfield corner in the 73rd to square the game at 1.

She delivered a world-class strike on a long free kick four minutes later to push the Mounties ahead 2-1.

Shippensburg earned a late opportunity to tie the game with a penalty kick in the 82nd minute off of a Mountaineer handball in the box.

Goalie Faith Cameron made a tremendous save diving to her right to maintain the slim 2-1 Mountaineer lead.

The lone Shippensburg goal happened in the first seven minutes but after that the Mansfield defense was strong.

Cameron totaled four saves on the day.

Parker Moss, Quelyn Nepa, Aleigha Rieppel, and Olivia Hudson all tallied a shot in the game as well.
