SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- The Mansfield Mountaineer men's track and field standouts
Sean Ringgold and
Christian Tanner qualified for tomorrow's final races at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Friday, May 12, on the campus of Slippery Rock University.
Ringgold reset his own record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.55. He finished fifth in the preliminaries and will be competing tomorrow.
Ringgold was just shy of also qualifying in the 100-meter dash final, finishing 10
th with a time of 10.91.
Tanner finished atop his heat in the 800-meter run to secure a spot in Saturday's finals. A late surge led to the heat win and a 1:55.91 time.
Derek Simpson finished 13
th in the 3K Steeplechase, rising four spots thanks to a kick after the final water barrier. He finished with a time or 10:21.48.
Jackson Doughty and
Terrance Quaker finished 11
th and 16
th respectively in the 400-meter relay prelims. Both athletes hit personal bests, with Doughty finishing in 49.54 and Quaker clocking in at 50.03.
NEXT UP
The Mounties will be back in action on the final day of the PSAC Championships, Saturday May 13.
