MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield University men's basketball team (5-14, 4-11 PSAC) fell to East Stroudsburg University (16-5, 10-5 PSAC), 95-70, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) on Wednesday night, Feb. 1 inside Decker Gymnasium.

Jordan Montgomery led four Mountaineers in double figures with 16 points on 4-of-5 attempts from three, adding three assists.
Idris Ali and
Michael Dickson each poured in 14 points, while
Manir Waller added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Mounties shot 42 percent (24-of-58) from the floor and recorded points from nine different players.

The Warriors forced a game-high 20 turnovers which led to a game-high 30 points.

The Mountaineers led 8-7 in 3-pointers and shot an efficient 83 percent at the foul line, but the Warriors face-passed offense, as a result of their full-court press, led to 36 overall field goals compared to the Mounties' 24. Â

The Mounties hung with the high-flying Warriors throughout the first half and trailed 41-33 heading into the break.

However, the Warriors scored the first basket of the second half to take a double-digit lead, and never relinquished, building a 20-point lead through the midway point and ultimately putting the game out of reach.

For ESU, Carlos Pepin led five players in double figures with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting.

The Mounties host West Chester University in conference play on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 4 inside Decker Gym.
