Raymond Breaks Career Records as Mounties Dominate on 2023 Senior Day

Records were broken and seniors were honored as the Mansfield sprint football team hosted their Senior Day on Saturday afternoon.

MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineers sprint football team (3-2, 2-1 CSFL North) hosted Cornell University (0-4, 0-4 CSFL North) for a Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) North matchup, which saw the Mounties cruise to a 20-7 victory over the Big Red.

Before today's contest, head coach John Evans and the team honored their 2023 senior class:
Bryce Allen, Gage Aumick, Michael Beals, Ethan Cina, Gavin Hinman, Matt Robert, Kade Showers, Alex Dean, and Terrance Quaker.

It was a historic day for Cahsid Raymond who now has placed his name on top of multiple career records including rushing attempts, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and pass attempts after today. Raymond's now six completions and 104 passing yards shy of breaking those records as well.

The quarterback ran in the first touchdown of the day, giving Mansfield a 7-0 lead early into the second quarter.

Quaker scored their second touchdown off a 14-yard dime from Raymond as the horn blasted off to end the first half with the Mounties winning 14-0.

Cornell brought the game back to single digits after a 24-yard run by the quarterback to limit the lead to just seven.

Quaker inched into the endzone in the final minute of third quarter to end the scoring for the day and see the Mounties team earn their third straight victory with the final scoreboard at 20-7.

Raymond highlighted the offense, passing for 127 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 110 yards with a touchdown. Quaker electrified with his dual-threat duties, rushing for 86 yards and a touchdown, while catching three catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Hinman picked up 11 total tackles and a tackle for loss on the day. Showers and Marvens Ravix each picked up a sack on the game.

UP NEXT:
The Mounties head to New York for their final divisional matchup of the season on October 27 to face St. Thomas Aquinas College. The division dual will kick off at 6 p.m.
