ITHACA, N.Y. – The Mansfield University sprint football team (2-1, 1-1 CSFL North) scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters en route to a 42-14 victory over Cornell University (0-2, 0-2 CSFL North) in a road Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Northern Division game on Friday night, Sept. 30.

Freshman
Audie McAree scored a career-high three touchdowns, finding pay dirt twice on the ground and once through the air to power the Mountaineers offense. Sophomore
Cahsid Raymond had another career day as the Mountie signal caller, totaling 244 yards through the air, with three touchdowns, while adding another 53 yards on the ground. Freshman
Jed Reese added a touchdown on the ground, while senior
Eugene Haynes was able to stretch the field with 91 yards receiving and a touchdown on just two receptions. Sophomore

The Mounties set the tone from the jump and established the running game early with a pair of touchdowns by freshmen McAree (three yards) and Reese (nine yards) through the opening 10 minutes.

Leading 14-0 entering the second quarter, the passing game got in on the fun when Raymond hit Randle on a 15-yard pass to cap off a 10-play, 85-yard drive, extending their lead to 21-0.

McAree extended the Mountaineers' lead to four scores with his second touchdown of the night, concluding a 5-play, 60-yard drive right before the half.

The Mounties put the game away with their fifth touchdown of the night on McAree's third score, this time catching a 17-yard pass from Raymond.

Cornell scored twice through the air to total 14 points, but the Mounties had already put the game away.
