EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Junior
Morgan Mesaris and Senior
Alexis Easling combined for four RBIs to highlight the Mansfield University Softball team doubleheader with East Strousburg University on Saturday, April 23.
The Mounties (5-21, 1-12 PSAC East) dropped a heartbreaker in game one, and fell 8-0 in game two.
Mansfield found themselves down in the fourth inning 2-0, when Mesaris scored sophomore
Maddy Jean on a single and senior Abby Woodard scored Mesaris moments later to tie the game.
Mansfield went ahead in the fifth, with an Easling two RBI single and Mesaris cracking her second RBI of the game advancing Easling. Mounties held the lead 5-2.
Things came undone in the seventh when the Warriors (32-6, 7-5 PSAC East) plated five runs to finish with the victory 7-5.
Junior
Danielle Goff was charged with four earned runs on eight hits.
Mounties couldn't find the bats in the second game managing only a trio of hits and fell 8-0.
Easling in the circle, was charged with six earned runs on nine hits.
The Mounties close out there PSAC season on Saturday April 30
th as they welcome the Raiders of Shippensburg University.
