CORNING, N.Y. – After winning back-to-back Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division series, the Mansfield University baseball team will look to make it three in a row as the kick-off their three-game set with Bloomsburg University on Friday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at Corning Community College.

The Mounties will host the Huskies on Friday in Corning, N.Y. for a single, nine-inning contest before traveling to Bloomsburg for a 7-inning, 9-inning doubleheader beginning at noon on Saturday, April 23.

The Mounties will look to ride the momentum of a two-game winning streak, despite having their previous three contests cancelled due to snow in the North. The Mounties are winners of five of their last six, vaulting them into fifth place in the PSAC East, just one game out in the win column of the fourth and final postseason slot.

Hunter DePrimo set a new Mansfield University baseball program record with 263 career K's to highlight a pair of one-run victories over Lock Haven University.

The Mounties stole game one, 12-11, before winning the nightcap, 5-1 (10 innings).

DePrimo, who broke Steve Micknich's previous record of 262 (1991-94), nearly tripled the LHU pitching staff in strikeouts with eight, while allowing just two runs through the opening 6 innings before the Bald Eagles started a comeback.

Ben Osborne ended the contest with a walk-off walk to plate pinch runner sophomore
Shay Gustafson to seal the Mountaineer victory, 12-11. Junior
Josh Colon (5-0) earned his team-leading fifth win on the mound.

In game two, both offenses cooled down as the pitching became the story. It took until the 10
th inning when the Mounties struck for four runs to steal the victory. Freshman
Austin Lewis earned his first win, tossing 3 and 2/3 scoreless innings, while Colon landed his third save after recording the final out.

4/20/2015: Westyn Baylor Named PSAC East Co-Athlete of the Week

MANSFIELD – Mansfield's Westyn Baylor has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Co-Athlete of the Week after putting up some big offensive numbers for the Mountaineers.
Â
Baylor hit .471 over a 10-game span this week, helping Mansfield to seven victories while extending his hit streak to 12 games. The senior posted four multi-hit games including three-hit games against Lock Haven and Kutztown.
Â
Batting in the three-hole, Baylor drove in 13 RBIs over the week while crossing the plate 12 times himself. He hit three home runs in the series sweep of Lock Haven and added another in a win over Kutztown. Baylor also drew seven walks.

Baylor owned an .882 slugging percentage and .548 on base percentage over the week.
