MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield University women's soccer team (2-12-2, 0-12-2 PSAC East) fell to Millersville University (2-7-5, 2-6-5 PSAC East), 5-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the MU Soccer Field.

The Mounties outshot the Marauders, 7-6 in the first half, but Millersville connected on the lone goal to lead 1-0 at the break.

Millersville came out of the gates redhot in the second half, scoring three goals over a two-minute span to begin to pull away.

The Marauders scored their final goal in the 86
th minute to round out the scoring at 5-0.

Freshman
Samantha Merklin (Effort, Pa. / Pleasant Valley) and junior
Faith Cameron (Center Valley, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) combined for five saves in net for the Mounties. Bella Fiorenza earned the goalkeeper victory for the Maraduers, finishing with three saves.

Three different Mountaineers finished with shots on goal. Jordan Palina, Savannah Rennix, Rachel Leisher, Morgan Winchock, and Emma Elwell scored the goals for Millersvillle.

The Mounties travel to Shepherd University on Saturday, Oct. 22 for a 3:30 p.m. PSAC East soccer match.
