WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Mansfield University women's soccer team (2-10-2, 0-10-2 PSAC) fell to No. 2 West Chester University (12-0, 11-0 PSAC East), 3-0, on the road in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 12.

Samantha Merklin (Effort, Pa. / Pleasant Valley) finished with a career-high 17 saves, giving her the fourth highest single-game total in program history.

The Mountaineer defense withstood an aggressive Golden Rams' offense that finished the contest ahead 20-1 in shots on goal and 12-2 on corners.

The Golden Rams built a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals in the 28

rd minute, before adding an insurance score in the 52
nd minute of the second half.
