SHEPHERDSTOWN W. Va. - The Mansfield University men's basketball team dropped a road contest to the shepherd Rams 80-57, on Monday Jan 24th. .
The Mounties (1-17 0-11 PSAC) were held to their lowest offensive output on the season, being held by the Rams (7-8 3-6 PSAC) to 34% shooting in the game.

Jaz Farrell notched 10 apiece to lead the Mountaineers. Redshirt freshman

Marcus Friend each had nine points.
The Mounties got off to a quick start in the game going on a quick 10 -4 run Thanks to sharp shooting from Friend and Farrell. The Rams grabbed the momentum back following that up, outscoring Mansfield 20-5 in the following seven minutes. Trading buckets for the final three minutes of the half, Shepherd had the lead 35-27 at the break.
The Friend to Farrell connection had an alley-oop dunk that opened the second half. The Rams remained unfazed by the play following it with a 34-10 run through the first 12 minutes of the second half taking a 69-39 lead. The Mounties fought their way back but could only get the game as close as 18 points, before the Rams took back control.
Kyle Daggett led the way for Shepherd scoring 24 points, collecting eight rebounds, tossing five assists, and getting three blocks. The Rams shot 58% as a team and 50% from beyond the arc.
Mansfield returns home Wednesday Jan. 26 as they welcome Kutztown into Decker Gymnasium.
