NORTON, Mass. - Sophomore Angie Colon represented the Mansfield University women's track and field team at the USATF-NE Open/Masters Meet at Wheaton College, where she placed second in the race walk on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 2. 

Colon crossed the finish line of her first collegiate race walk event in 7:31.53, which is good enough for second all-time in program history and was just over a second shy of qualifying for the U.S. Track and Field Championships. The effort landed Colon on the provisional list which puts her in line to land an invite to the National event. 

The Mountaineer men and women are both back in action on Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Al Hall Freedom Games at Edinboro University.
