MANSFIELD – The Mountaineers are set for a week of home events at Karl Van Norman Field, kicking off tonight at 8 p.m. when women's soccer hosts Roberts Wesleyan College and ending on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. when sprint football hosts Cornell University in CSFL North action for their season opener.
Field Hockey continues the Mountaineers home marathon with a 4 p.m. matinee with Bloomsburg University at Van Norman Field. The Mounties enter the contest with a 3-1 overall record after having their three-game winning streak snapped at Kutztown on Saturday.
FAN ZONE
The first 100 fans through the gate at Saturday night's football game will receive a stuffed Mountie Mascot replica, courtesy of the Mansfield University Athletic Department.
MU students receive free admission with their school I.D., while general admission is $5 for adults, $3 for high school students and free for children under 12.
The Mountaineers will also pay tribute to those who have served or are currently serving in the Military, by providing free admission to the game on Saturday.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Field Hockey
Field Hockey's biggest win of the season came against the Huskies last season, when a 3-1 victory sent the Mounties to the PSAC postseason for the first time in a decade. Dana Evans scored three goals and dished out the assist on the game-winner to lift No. 10 Mansfield past Bloomsburg on Oct. 30, 2019.
The Huskies enter tomorrow's contest with a 2-2 mark with their wins coming in each of their last two games. Aden Morgans is the lone Huskie with multiple goals on the season, while goalkeeper Abby Shaffer has 14 saves and one clean sheet.
Women's Soccer
Women's Soccer takes on their final non-conference foe of the season in Roberts Wesleyan, who comes into tonights contest with a 0-3-1 record. The Red Hawks dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker to Chestnut Hill in their last contest.
The Mounties are 0-3 all-time against the Red Hawks, including a 3-0 loss in 2019.
Sprint Football
Spring football will kick off the 2021 campaign under the Karl Van Norman Field lights on Saturday with a CSFL North clash with Cornell.
The Mounties snapped a 14-game skid against the Big Red with a 44-13 victory in 2019.
David Butler scored three rushing touchdowns and the Mountaineer defense allowed -8 rushing yards to lead the way.
The win marked the first victory over Cornell since MU joined the CSFL in 2008.

LAST TIME OUT
Field Hockey
Field Hockey will look to rebound from their first loss of the season after falling 3-1 to No. 5 Kutztown University on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 11.
Sophomore
Kalin Duke, who scored three goals as a freshman, already surpassed that total when she found the back of the net four her fourth goal of the season in the 54th minute to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Sophomore
August Lewis faced 10 shots and made seven saves in cage for the Mounties.
Women's Soccer
The Mounties fell to Bloom, 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore
Faith Cameron made four save for the Mounties.

Shelters' Goal Lifts Mansfield Past Pitt-Johnstown 1-0
JOHNSTOWN – Danelle Shelters' scored the game's only goal to lift visiting Mansfield past conference newcomer Pitt-Johnstown in PSAC women's soccer action.
The victory was the first for the Mountaineers who opened the season against a tough slate of competition.

Schawillie's OT Goal Lifts Mansfield to 2-1 Win Over IUP in PSAC Field Hockey
INDIANA, Pa. - Senior Taryn Schawillie scored the winning goal four minutes into overtime to lift Mansfield to a key 2-1 win over IUP in PSAC field hockey.
Schawillie, the Mountaineers all-time leading goal scorer, took a deflected ball off the stick of teammate Jessie Swingle and put it above the goalkeeper's reach high in the net to break a 1-1 stalemate. It was the senior's PSAC leading eighth goal of the season.
Women's Cross Country 9/18/2012:
Women's Cross Country Ranked 5th in Atlantic Region
The Mansfield University women's cross country team has been tabbed at the No. 5 team in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) week one regional rankings.
The Mountaineer women have also received national attention this season, being ranked as the No. 24 team in USTFCCCA preseason national poll.

Jordan Clark '12 Named 2017 Butsko Memorial Award Recipient
Mansfield University football has announced that Jordan Clark '12 will be the 34th recipient of the Frank Butsko Memorial Award.
The 31st Annual Frank Butsko Memorial Awards Brunch will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. in North Manser Dining Hall. Later that night, the Mountaineers host Cornell for LUMA at Homecoming 2017.

Women's soccer travels to East Stroudsburg University on Saturday, Sept. 18 for a 7 p.m. PSAC East road contest.
Women's soccer remains on the road when they head to West Chester University on Wednesday, Sept. 22 for a 1 p.m. PSAC East match, before returning home for Homecoming Weekend. The squad will be the first athletic contest at home on the afternoon, as they will play host to Shepherd University at 1 p.m. on Van Norman Field.
Field Hockey kicks off the events this Saturday, hosting No. 2 West Chester University at 1 p.m. at Van Norman Field.
Field Hockey is off during the following week and will be back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 25 when they travel to Shippensburg University for a 1 p.m. PSAC contest.
Cross Country concludes their two-week hiatus and will return to the course on Saturday morning, Sept. 25 when they travel to Lock Haven University for the LHU Invitational.
