MANSFIELD –
Ryan Clifford claimed All-PSAC honors after finishing third in the men's 10K during day one of the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Robert T. Maxon track on Thursday night.
Clifford, who was the 2
nd-seed in a field of 13 runners, claimed his second-fastest time in his collegiate career at 31:46.97. The senior also led the pack for about five laps and set the pace for what was an exciting finish along with Josh Coakley of West Chester and Colton Cassel of Edinboro who finished in first and second-place respectively.
Clifford was followed by sophomore
Quincy Amabile, who finished with a 34-second new personal best in the 10K. Running like he was being chased by a velociraptor, Amabile kicked his way to a fifth-place finish, placing two Mountaineers on the podium to close out day one at Maxon track.
