WILLIAMSBURG, Va. –
Ryan Clifford left Mansfield with one thing on his mind, to break the all-time 10K record for Mansfield University Track & Field. His time of 31:05.76 did just that.
Clifford now stands alone at the top of the record books for the men's 10K for Mansfield University track & field, beating the previous record of 31:30.0 set in 1980 by Rob Marino.
The time was not only record setting for the Mansfield track & field history books, but Clifford's personal record as well, beating his previous best 10K time by over two seconds.
Clifford's accolades do not end there, as his outstanding finish also earned him a qualifying time for the PSAC outdoor track & field championships set to be hosted by Mansfield from May 9
th to the 11
th. Ryan narrowly missed a NCAA provisional mark by just over a second.
Clifford's teammates will now look to continue his record-setting trend as the rest of the Mansfield University track & field teams will head to the Millersville University to take part in the Millersville Metrics. Live results for the event will be provided by Tumey Timing.
