EDINBORO – Senior Ryan Clifford led the way for Mansfield University track & field at the PSAC Indoor Championships on Saturday, earning All-PSAC status in both the 3K and 5K races.
Lyndsey Payne got the day started for the Mountaineers with a six-second personal best in the women's mile finishing at 5:23.42 and placing 9th. Senior Jenny Bellefleur followed Payne, racing her way to her third best 400-meter dash of the season at 1:09.43 placing 21st overall.
Caden Fisher and Nicholas Auchenbach continued their friendly competition in the men's 60-meter hurdles, with Fisher leading the way in 14th place with a new PR at 8.80 seconds. Auchenbach compiled his third best time of the season in 17th place at 8.95 seconds.
Clifford would have a day for the ages at Edinboro, compiling not one, but two All-PSAC honors in the men's 5K and 3K. Finishing second in both events, Ryan reached the podium in the 5K with a time of 15:06.88. He continued his impressive day heading into the 3K as the 4th-seed and blazing his way to a finish of 8:49.96.
Clifford surpassed himself in the program record books with the fourth fastest 5K in program history, while his time in the 3K was good enough for ninth best all-time at Mansfield. Sophomore Quincy Amabile compiled his third best 5K time of the season at 9:13.01.
Mansfield finished eighth in the men's distance medley relay, as the team of Jordan Holmes, Momadue Diallo, Ryan Morrissette, and Travis Keefe finished with a time of 11:05.62.
