MANSFIELD – Freshman Jasmine Hilton led the Mansfield University women's basketball team with 10 points and six rebounds against 13th-ranked Indiana University of Pennsylvania, but last season's PSAC Champion proved too much for the Mountaineers who fell, 71-38 at Decker Gymnasium on Saturday.
 
Playing as an undersized center for the majority of the contest, Hilton was not outmatched and worked hard to pull in six rebounds, including three on the offensive end. The freshman was 4-of-11 from the field and also added a steal and a block. Freshman Jasmine Perez contributed six points and four assists and sophomore Sydney Reed added seven points off the bench.
 
The Mounties (2-6, 0-3 PSAC) took a 5-4 lead with 7:31 to go in the first quarter following a Kira Merritt 3-pointer. However, the Crimson Hawks responded with six unanswered and ultimately built a 24-12 lead at the end of the period.
 
The Mountaineers caused 17 Indiana turnovers, but the Crimson Hawks won the battle of the boards (49-28) and made 12 more field goals including a game-high nine from behind the arch. Mansfield was efficient from the charity stripe, going 9-of-12.
 
The Crimson Hawks (8-1, 3-0 PSAC) remain unbeaten in the conference and were led by Courtney Alexander who recorded a team high 18 points while bringing in five rebounds and dishing out three assists.
 
The Mounties have a week off to recover before heading on the road on Dec. 15 to face LeMoyne College for a 1 p.m. non-conference match-up.
