Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Moir Leads The Way With Eight Saves; Warriors End Two-Game Skid

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – Freshman keeper Stephanie Moir made eight stops in net for the Mansfield women's soccer team, but the East Stroudsburg Warriors were able to hold onto a 4-0 win in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

The game-winner was scored by Jules Sicker nearly 30 minutes into the first half of play; It was the Warriors' fourteenth shot of the day. Haley Skove then connected from Amy Strauser on a beautifully placed corner kick and tucked away a header with just under five minutes remaining in the first. The Mounties immediately responded with some offensive pressure but the Warriors thwarted the attacks, keeping the first half score at 2-0.

The second half of play saw some fight from the Mounties midfield. Alexis Bittel and Abbey Korber each fired a shot, however neither of the attacks came to fruition as East Stroudsburg came away with the victory on their home field, ending their two-game skid.

Through Wednesday's game, with just three starts under her belt, Moir ranks second in the conference in saves.

The Mounties return to action this Saturday, September 15th against Seton Hill, as we "Salute The Troops" and also celebrate LUMA: "Light Up Mansfield Again."
