MANSFIELD –
Koryn Wickwire blasted a three-run homer to highlight Mansfield's 9-3 win over Pitt-Johnstown as the Mountaineers split a PSAC Central doubleheader on Senior Day at Helen Lutes Field Friday.

Prior to the start of the doubleheader, seniors
Casey Pearce,
Sierra Storm,
Melanie Taylor,
Taylor Chidester,
Rachael Sterner, and
Koryn Wickwire were honored as part of the Senior Day ceremony.

In game two,
Joelle Snyder scored runs in the first and second innings being driven in by
Alli McGovern and Rachel Sterner to give Mansfield (11-14, 7-11 PSAC Central) a 2-0 lead. Pitt-Johnstown evened the score with two runs in the top of the fourth inning.

The Mountaineers regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth, scoring
Melanie Taylor and
Leah McGovern on sacrifice flies before
Alli McGovern doubled to left field to score
Deshae Jones making it 5-2 in the Mounties' favor. In the fifth inning, a Taylor single to the gap in left brought in
MaKayla Butz to increase the lead to 6-2.

UPJ got one back in the sixth inning the bring the game within three runs.

With a pair of runners aboard, Wickwire blasted a no-doubter home run well over the fence in left field to increase the Mansfield lead to 9-3. It was the second home run of the season for Wickwire.

Arianna Young earned her fourth win of the season, going the distance with four strikeouts and no walks issued. Emily Moore took the loss.

Snyder,
Alli McGovern, Wickwire, and Taylor each turned in multi-hit performances in the game with McGovern going 3-3 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored.

In game one, Mansfield opened the scoring with Sterner driving in Snyder in the bottom of the third inning. However, the Mountain Cats would plate two runs in the fourth and another in the sixth to come away with the 3-1 victory.

Melissa Wagner earned the complete game victory with Storm taking the loss.

The Mountaineers still have a chance at a PSAC playoff berth if they sweep Lock Haven with Bloomsburg dropping both games against Clarion on Saturday.
