MANSFIELD – The Mountaineers put up an aggressive first half but Bloomsburg rallied to take the 62-44 victory at First Citizens Community Bank Court on Wednesday.

The final home game was a back-and-forth battle as Mansfield (7-20, 5-16 PSAC) held on to a slim 27-24 lead going into the half. Freshman
Erin Gibbons drained two of her three trifectas in the second frame on her way to a team-high 13 points.

The second half saw Bloomsburg (12-15, 9-12 PSAC) increase their shooting percentage by over 15 percent and pull away to hold the lead through the remainder of the game.

Senior
Alyssa Mullins scored 11 points while
Mary Kate Rumbaugh and
Paige Whitfield each chipped in seven points of their own. Rumbaugh grabbed a team-high eight boards while shooting 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.
Melanie Taylor added three points and five rebounds while
McKenzie Hatch led the team in assists with three.

Leading the way for the Huskies was Marissa Molnar with a game-high 17 points while Meghan Corridoni followed with 12 points.

Up next for the Mounties is the final road game of the regular season as they travel to Cheyney this Saturday. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
