INDIANA, Pa. -Â Coming off a 2-1 win over the California Vulcans last weekend, the Mansfield Mountaineers fell to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania 4-1 on Saturday, October 6, 2018. The game was held at Indiana High School as it was moved due to recent storm damage.

The PSAC contest saw the Crimson Hawks take a quick 1-0 lead in the ninth minute. They tacked on three more goals in the first half to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. The final three goals were all assisted by Kallie Conte, which tied the Indiana University of Pennsylvania's school record. The second half proved to be a more balanced battle between the two squads. Bria Bittiger volleyed a shot past the outstretched arms of the Hawks keeper for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.Â
Stephanie Moir stopped four shots in the second half to shut down the Hawks for the remainder of the game. Her eight save performance now gives her 70 on the season, which averages to 8.75 per game and leads the conference.Â
Mansfield took four attempts at the net in the contest, with Abbey Korber and Cay McNichol also adding to Bittiger's offensive pressure.Â
The Mountaineers return to action on the road again next Friday, October 12th at Kutztown University at 3 p.m.
