Soccer Hosts Gannon Under The Lights Wednesday

MANSFIELD – After battling Edinboro in a tight 3-2 contest on Sunday, the Mansfield University women's soccer team returns to action Wednesday, October 17th to take on Gannon at 6 p.m. under the lights of Karl Van Norman Field. The game caps off the doubleheader of Mansfield Athletics contests on Karl Van Norman Field on Wednesday, as the soccer contest comes right after the field hockey game.

Stephanie Moir recorded a PSAC season-record 18 saves in the loss, which broke her previous season-high of 17 which she had set against Millersville on September 26th. Bria Bittiger continued her goal-scoring tear as she notched her fifth goal in six games. Nicolette DeSalvatore tallied a team season-high two assists, connecting with Bittiger and then Eleni Gebbia, both during the second half in the comeback effort. Gebbia's goal tied the game at 2-2, but Edinsboro's offensive pressure was able to find a way to narrowly escape with the 3-2 victory.

Gannon enters Wednesday's contest at 6-5-2, with a 5-5-2 conference record. They are currently on a two-game win streak with one-goal victories over West Chester (3-2, 2OT) and Mercyhurst (2-1).
