MANSFIELD - The Mansfield University soccer team returns to Karl Van Norman Field on Sunday to host the Edinboro Fighting Scots and celebrate three players on the team for Senior Day. The game will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the pregame festivities starting shortly before the contest.
Mansfield battled a #8 Kutztown team on Friday to open the weekend, and now come home for the Sunday afternoon matchup with Edinboro. The team closed out September with a monumental win over California and look to finish the season strong.
Bria Bittiger,
Rachel Fox, and
Abbey Korber are the three seniors who will be honored prior to the game.
Edinboro enters Sunday's contest fresh off of a 4-1 upset over IUP. The Fighting Scots offense has turned up lately, scoring seven goals in their last two games. Danielle Chatten leads the team in goals and ranks ninth in the PSAC with six on the season.
Although the scoring streak came to an end, Bittiger ranks right behind Chatten with four goals this year and leads the Mansfield offense.
Stephanie Moir and
Brianna Roys combined for ten saves versus Kutztown, and the Mounties rank first in the PSAC in saves, averaging over nine per game.
