EAST STROUDSBURG – Mansfield dropped both ends of a PSAC East baseball twinbill at East Stroudsburg on Saturday falling 4-0 and 3-2.

East Stroudsburg (23-19-1, 12-12-1 PSAC East) scored two runs in the first inning and another in the second to lead 3-0 early. The Warriors tacked on a run in the sixth.

Mansfield (20-27, 8-17 PSAC East) totaled six its in the game with
Jerry Chavarria accounting for three of them himself with a 3-for-3 day.

Tyler Eckman moved to 7-0 on the mound with seven strikeouts in the complete game shutout.
Â
Luke Hils went the distance for Mansfield with seven hits allowed and a strikeout, but took the loss.
Â
ESU went up 3-0 in game two with a pair of runs in the second and another in the fourth.

The Mountaineers rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh inning with
Scott Rockwell and
Colby Schearer knocking in runs. However, the comeback would fall just short.

Ben Stine struck out nine in 6.1 innings with two earned runs for the win. Connor Johnson earned the save.

Evan McAndrew scattered five hits in 6.0 innings of work in the losing effort.

Mansfield closes out the season by hosting East Stroudsburg at Shaute Field on Sunday.
