ASTON, Pa. – Mansfield pounded out 28 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Lincoln (Pa.) in non-conference action on Wednesday.

The Mountaineers took game one 12-1 before completing the sweep with a 16-3 win in game two.

Mansfield (15-13, 4-4 PSAC East) opened the scoring in the top of the first inning of game one, hanging six runs.
Tanner Klein drove in a run before
Eric Harms plated two more. A
Wes Custer double and
Brady Mengel single each scored a pair of runs to give the Mounties a 6-0 advantage.

Lincoln (5-19) got one back in the bottom of the first with an unearned run.

Klein drilled a three-run homer in the second inning to increase the Mansfield lead to eight runs. It was his second round-tripper of the year.

Ryan Paige scored
Dio Infante with a sacrifice fly in the third, then Harms and Custer plated two more runs to bring Mansfield's total to 12.

Mansfield Starting pitcher
Ridge Walker settled in nicely, throwing no-hit baseball from the second to sixth innings.
Kyle Jackson came in and shutout the Lions in the seventh.

Walker earned his first collegiate win on the mound, pitching 6.0 innings with just three hits, one earned run, and six strikeouts.

In game two, Mansfield took another early lead, scoring four runs in the top of the first. Paige opened the scoring by driving in two runs with a double in the gap before
Jerry Chavarria and Mengel each plated a run.

Mansfield added four more runs in the fourth inning to jump out to an 8-0 lead. Paige drew a bases-loaded walk then Klein and Chavarria knocked in runs with RBI groundouts. Paige completed the scoring by crossing home on a throwing error.

Lincoln got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with an unearned run.

Paige drove in another run in the fifth before a Klein double scored two more to increase Mansfield's lead to 11-1.

In the top of the sixth,
Taylor Hillson brought home a base runner with a single into left field then
Dalton Lewis scored two more. Paige and
Zach Merkle added RBIs to increase the lead to 16-1.

Lincoln scored a run in both the sixth and seventh innings to bring its deficit to 16-3.

Bryce Zaparzynski improved to 2-0 with just three hits allowed and seven strikeouts over 4.0 innings.
Joe Grober and Joseph Deperno came in on relief work.

Pena and Hillson each record four hits over the doubleheader. Hillson and Infante both scored five times and Klein recorded a high of seven RBIs.

Mansfield returns to PSAC East play by traveling to Bloomsburg on Friday before hosting the Huskies at Shaute Field on Saturday.
