WEST CHESTER – Mansfield was edged 5-4 in game one before dropping game two 4-0 in PSAC East action at division-leading West Chester on Friday.

West Chester (28-7, 18-4 PSAC East) put a run on the board in the first inning, but the Mountaineers took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third inning behind
Ryan Paige's three-run homer. The lead would not last long as the Golden Rams countered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to hold a 4-3 advantage.

West Chester increased its lead to 5-3 with an RBI double in the sixth.

Mansfield (20-14, 8-14 PSAC East) got within a run in the top of the seventh when
Taylor Hillson scored
Spencer Zuraski with an RBI single up the middle, but the rally would fall short.

Jon Fisher earned the win for West Chester and Josh McClain got the save.

Mansfield totaled eight hit in game two, but was unable to turn those opportunities into runs.

The Rams took the lead again in the first inning before scoring a pair in the fourth and another in the sixth.

Evan McAndrew went 6.0 innings with six hits allowed and two earned runs in the loss.

Eric Close took the win, pitching 6.0 innings with eight hits allowed.
