MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Freshman
Hunter Watkins hit a huge personal best in the javelin to lead Mansfield track & field at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday.

Watkins, who hit an NCAA provisional mark in the javelin last week in his first collegiate outdoor meet, improved his standing with a lifetime personal best 64.14 meters to finish second overall. The rookie's mark is currently the best in the PSAC and seventh in the nation. It marks the second best throw in program history.

Rachel Hohenwarter notched a pair of PSAC qualifying marks in the shot put and hammer throw on Saturday. The senior finished ninth in the shot put with a heave of 11.79 meters and took 10
th in the hammer with a personal best of 40.29 meters.

Charlsie Bowen won the pole vault for the second straight week, clearing 3.55 meters. Bowen cleared the first two heights in her first attempt before bowing out at 3.70 meters.

Nicholas Auchenbach won the 400-meter dash and hit a conference time of 50.02.

In the 10K,
Ryan Clifford took second overall at 33:17.74.

Kenzie Jones hit a PSAC time in the 1,500-meter run with a personal best time of 4:56.86 to finish third.
Kirsten Anderson and Janelle Peachy also hit PRs with times of 5:14.17 and 5:21.13 respectively.

On the men's side,
Jordan Holmes,
Travis Keefe,
Wilson Preston and
Dylan Rhodes each hit personal bests in the 1,500m.

Jenny Bellefleur was seventh in the 200-meter dash with her time of 26.48.

Hitting a personal best in the discus was
Purity Moenga with her best attempt of 27.49 meters.
Â
The women's 4x100-meter team of Bowen, Bellefleur,
Tiara Clark and
Quanda Williams finished fifth at 51.64.

Mansfield is back in action at the University of Delaware next weekend.
