Tamanosky Scores Game-High 26 Points -- Mounties Roll Over Alfred State in Non-Conference Matchup
MANSFIELD –
Matt Tamanosky and
Malik Carter combined to score 50 points to lead Mansfield to a 90-66 win over Alfred State in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon on First Citizens Community Bank Court in Decker Gymnasium.
Mansfield never trailed in the contest, scoring the first bucket of the game on a Tamanosky layup and taking a double-digit 45-35 advantage into halftime.
The Mountaineers, who shot 66% from the floor in the first half, connected on a season-best 61% of their shots in the game.
Mansfield used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to open up a 72-49 lead on back-to-back layups by Carter.
Tamanosky hit 10-of-12 of his shots from the floor and just missed a double-double with a game-high 26 points and nine rebounds. Carter connected on 9-of-14 of his shots, scoring 24 points along with eight rebounds.
Jack Packer added a season-high eight points along with
Da'Quan Jones while
Cedrick Powell dished out eight assists.
Dante Jordan topped four players in double-figures for Alfred State with 15 points.
Mansfield travels to Lock Haven Wednesday evening for a key PSAC East matchup.
