MANSFIELD –
Brielle Kelly scored a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds, but Mansfield could not recover after a slow first half in an 81-54 loss at home to Edinboro Saturday.

Kelly is three points away from passing Alicia Espigh for 16
th on the all-time scoring list.

Alyssa Mullins scored 10 points while
Melanie Taylor brought seven of her own from the bench. Mullins also added seven boards to Kelly's 10.
Mia Leonard went 4-5 off the bench to score 10 points in her six minutes on the floor.

Mansfield was first on the board but connected on just 4-of-18 shots in the first quarter. The women would trail 17-10 before being outshot 21-9 in the second frame entering intermission 38-19.

McKenzie Hatch opened the second half with a trey 20 seconds in. Mullins and
Melanie Taylor finished the quarter like they started, each sinking trifectas to close out the third quarter. The Mountaineers upped their game and grabbed 13 boards to Edinboro's 12.

Leonard held the offense together in the final frame but Edinboro shot just short of 50% from the floor in the last ten minutes.

Jontay Walton topped Edinboro with a game-high 21 points while Michelle Jahn and Ciara Rosten combined for another 29 points.
The women complete their double-header tomorrow when they host Mercyhurst at 1 p.m.
