Two Mounties in Double Figures in Non-Conference Loss at Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Brielle Kelly and Erin Gibbons combined for 34 points, but Le Moyne earned the 79-51 victory at Ted Grant Court on Sunday afternoon.
 
Kelly scored a game-high 20 points to tie her at 12th on Mansfield's all-time scoring list with Lynelle Mosley (1,110). The senior went 10-12 from the line and shot 45.5% from the floor while grabbing a team-high six rebounds.
 
Freshman Gibbons connected on three treys on her way to 14 points and shot an impressive 62.5% from the floor. Senior Alyssa Mullins scored nine points and grabbed five boards while Melanie Taylor, Mary Kate Rumbaugh, Paige Whitfield, and Alayna Biesecker each added two points of their own.
 
Le Moyne (6-5, 3-3 NE10) sunk back-to-back threes to open a 10-0 lead to start the game. Gibbons began the scoring for Mansfield (3-8, 1-4 PSAC) with a trifecta of her own. The Mountaineers cut the lead to 15-10 to end the first quarter.
 
Gibbons scored eight of her 14 points in the second frame, shooting 3-4 from the floor. The Dolphins took off on a run scoring 28 points to lead 43-24 going into the half.
 
The Mountaineers came back with a new found intensity in the third quarter outscoring the Dolphins 20-15. The 'Phins pulled away in the last 10 minutes of play to earn the 79-51 non-conference victory.

Courtney Webster led Le Moyne with team-highs in both scoring (19) and rebounds (7).
 
Both Mansfield basketball teams travel to East Stroudsburg on Dec. 30 for a PSAC East matchup.
