MANSFIELD – No. 5 Millersville scored a pair of goals in the second half to get past Mansfield 2-0 on Saturday in PSAC field hockey play at Karl Van Norman Field.

Saturday was Senior Day for the Mountaineers with
Chelsea Tanco,
Abbie Predmore,
Emily Blidy, and
Katie Lipski honored prior to the start of the game.

Both sides had opportunities early in the game, but in the battle between two of the top keepers in the nation, goals would be hard to come by.
Abbie Predmore and
Meghan Griffin each had quality opportunities that were denied while
Katie Lipski helped out her goalie with a defensive save.

After halftime, Millersville (11-3, 6-1 PSAC) broke the scoreless tie in the 38
th minute when Erica Tarsi converted a penalty stroke attempt. It was her team-leading eighth of the season.

The Marauders added another in the 57
th minute when Emma Boutcher gathered a deflection and played it into goal.
Cady Burnside recorded a defensive save for the Mounties just prior to the goal.

Mansfield (6-8, 1-5 PSAC) held a 13-11 advantage in penalty corners but was outshot 26-12.

Brittany Ryan recorded nine saves in the loss.

The win runs Millersville's streak up to eight games.

Mansfield travels to Kutztown on Tuesday.
