Charlsie Bowen and
Kyle Blose each took home first place finishes to lead Mansfield University track & field at the Houghton College Highlander Invitational on Friday night.

The Highlander Invitational marked Mansfield's first meet of 2017 after opening the indoor season with a pair of meets in December.

Charlsie Bowen won the pole vault with a top height of 3.50 meters, matching her season best. It marks the second time during the 2016-17 indoor season that Bowen has hit the 3.50 meter mark. The junior's personal best is 3.70 meters.

Kyle Blose won the shot put and hit a conference mark at 14.35 meters. The winning attempt came on the junior's third and final throw of prelims.

Finishing fourth in the 400-meter dash was
Melanie Hartley with her time of 1:04.

Kenzie Jones hit a 12-second personal best in the 3,000-meter run at 11:05.83 to finish sixth overall.
Kirsten Anderson was just steps behind Jones at 11:08.37 to finish eighth.

Rachel Hohenwarter hit a PSAC mark in the shot put with her top attempt of 11.03 meters. The senior's throw was good for a third place finish. Hohenwarter was also 11
th in the weight throw at 11.14 meters,

Mansfield will compete at Bucknell next weekend.
