WEST CHESTER – The Mansfield University women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback at undefeated and nationally-ranked West Chester Wednesday afternoon.
West Chester, ranked 12
th in the latest NCAA Division II poll, got first half goals from Scarlett Walsh and Kara Parvel to build a 2-0 halftime lead and added two more scores in the final 15 minutes of the game on goals from Jenny Bail and Tayler Jamison.
Mansfield struggled to get its offense untracked with
Delaney Meadows getting off the only shot on goal during the afternoon.
Rachel Fox and
Sarah Nezelek combined for five saves for Mansfield.
The contest marks the first of four long road trip for the Mountaineers who travel to Slippery Rock on Saturday.
