FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: #12 East Stroudsburg Too Much for Mounties
 
EAST STROUDSBURG – No. 12 East Stroudsburg swept Friday's PSAC East doubleheader against Mansfield at Mitterling Field by scores of 10-1 and 12-1.
 
East Stroudsburg (32-11, 15-7 PSAC East) scored the first run of the opener in the bottom of the third, but the Mounties tied up the score with Ryan Paige's RBI double to score Tanner Klein.
 
However, t was all ESU for the remainder of the game as the Warriors plated two runs in the fifth before exploding for seven in the sixth.
 
Matt Festa threw a complete game three-hitter with one earned run and 11 strikeouts. Luke Hils took the loss.
 
ESU's bats continued to roll in game two, hanging six runs in the first and five more in the second. The Warriors added another in the fifth.
 
Mansfield (18-22, 6-16 PSAC East) got on the board in the top of the seventh with Hunter Huyett's RBI-single to score Paige.
 
Tyler Eckman got the win on the mound, allowing just three hits and no runs while fanning eight. Alec Covel was hit with the loss.
 
Steven Zimmerman had two home runs in the game and drove in six runs.
 
The Mountaineers host the Warriors tomorrow for senior day at Shaute Field.
