KUTZTOWN – Mountaineer baseball fell twice in a PSAC East twinbill at Kutztown Sunday, dropping the opener 12-0 before falling 4-1 in the nightcap.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was pushed back a day due to weather.

Chase Pepper worked a no-hitter through three innings before getting into trouble in the fourth. Kutztown posted four runs in the inning on two hits and three Mansfield errors.

The Golden Bears tacked on two more runs in the fifth inning before hanging six in the sixth to jump out to a 12-0 advantage.

Paul Piromalli earned his second win of the season on the mound allowing just three hits over 6.0 innings. Pepper took the loss, but struck out eight in just 4.0 innings worked.

Mansfield opened game two with an early run as
Zephan Kash drove in
Taylor Hillson with an RBI single to right field in the top of the first. However, Kutztown's four runs in the third would stand for the win.

Anthony DeVito went the distance on the mound for Kutztown, scattering four hits and striking out five.
Alec Covel took the loss in 5.0 innings worked.

Mansfield will host Kutztown at Shaute Field on Monday.
