MANSFIELD – Mansfield fell twice to No. 3 Millersville in Saturday's home opener at Shaute Field.

The Marauders won the opener 8-2 before cruising to a 13-2 victory in the nightcap.

Mansfield (8-10, 0-4 PSAC East) got on the board first, putting up a pair of runs in the second inning of game one. Three straight singles allowed
Ryan Paige to score and put
Tanner Klein and
Owen Lukens on the corners.
Jerry Chavarria's two-out single up the middle plated Klein.
Â
Millersville (19-1, 4-0 PSAC East) got on the board in the fourth with two runs to tie the game then jumped out to a 6-2 lead with four runs in the sixth. The Marauders tacked on two insurance runs in the seventh.

Mansfield's
Brandon Garrett struck out seven through 5.2 innings of work, but took the loss after scattering nine hits for six earned runs.
Billy Gregory gave up just two hits and a walk and struck out two in 1.1 shutout innings.

Jim McDade earned his third win with two earned runs over 6.0 innings. He allowed five hits and struck out five.

In game two, Millersville scored a pair in the second inning and then four more in the fourth. Mansfield pushed across two runs in the bottom of the fourth with
Matt Kurelja wearing a pitch with bases loaded before Klein scored on a double-play ball.

Millersville posted innings of four, two and one runs to ease to the sweep.

Ryan Anderson earned the win for Millersville while
Alec Covel was hit with the loss.

Mansfield hosts Bloomsburg at Shaute Field on Friday.
