Charlsie Bowen placed second in the pole vault to lead Mountaineer track & field on day one of the PSAC Indoor Championships on Saturday.

Bowen cleared an NCAA provisional height of 3.56 meters in the pole vault to take second overall in the field. The sophomore was one of just three athletes to clear the height in her best result at a PSAC Championship event. It matched the best result for a Mountaineer women's pole vaulter with Alexa Tsiknas also finishing second in 2011.

The men's distance medley relay team of
Quashaun Jaquay Willis,
Nicholas Auchenbach,
Ben Drexler and
Joelsen Resimo placed fourth overall with a time of 10:14.11.

Junior
Allison McCurry won her heat in the 5,000-meter run and hit a huge PR to finish 13
th at 18:38.85. McCurry entered the race seeded 20
th.

Sophomore
Savannah Buckley hit a personal best in the 60-meter dash with her time of 8.01 to finish 14
th in the field. Buckley also registered a PR in the 300-meter dash at 26.68 to finish 22
nd.

Freshman
Jenny Bellefleur took 20
th in the 200m with a personal best time of 26.51.

Another PR fell in the 400-meter dash where junior
Melanie Hartley clocked a time of 1:00.3 to finish 21
st overall.

Nicholas Auchenbach was 13
th in the men's 400m at 51.14.

Vaulter
Katy Haywood finished 18
th after clearing a height of 3.08 meters.
Â
The Mountaineer women's team is 11
th through day one with eight points while the men also sit in 11
th with five team points.
