Melanie Taylor led four Mounties in double-figure scoring, but Pitt-Johnstown used a late rally to earn a 72-64 PSAC crossover win Sunday afternoon.

Pitt-Johnstown (5-2, 2-2 PSAC) scored the first points of the game, but following a quick timeout by Mansfield (1-5, 0-4 PSAC) head coach
Michael Whitling, the Mountaineers dominated offensively with a 13-0 run. A scorching hot Mansfield team did not miss a single shot from the field or free throw line in the first quarter to jump out to a 25-15 lead.

Taylor knocked down a pair of treys in the quarter with
Tianna Jackson adding another.

Midway through the second quarter, UPJ used a 9-2 run to close within just three points, but the Mountaineers took a 34-28 lead into the break.

Mansfield connected on 50.0% (12-24) of shots from the floor and a red hot 80.0% (4-5) from beyond the arc in the first half.

UPJ worked the Mansfield lead down to three points three times in the third quarter before ending the period trailing by just two points at 53-51.

A Laurel O'Barto 3-pointer and Maurina Nunn lay-up to open the fourth quarter gave the Lady Cats their first lead since the opening bucket. However, the Mounties regained the lead on back-to-back jumpers by Taylor and Jackson. Mansfield held a 62-58 lead with just over four minutes to play in the game, but UPJ closed out the game on a 14-2 run to earn the comeback victory.

Taylor hit three trifectas on her way to a career-high 15 points and recorded three blocked shots.
Alyssa Mullins netted her first career double-double with 12 points and a career-best 10 rebounds. She also dished out four assists.

Tianna Jackson scored 12 points with
Brielle Kelly adding 10.
Bella Ricci chipped in nine points off the bench.

Victoria Moreland and Olivia McCabe paced the Lady Cats with 17 points each.

The 25-point first quarter was a season-high for Mansfield.

The Mountaineers held a 40-37 rebounding advantage but allowed a costly 19 turnovers in the game.
