MANSFIELD – Brielle Kelly scored a game-high 17 points but it wouldn't be enough as Shippensburg came away with a 65-49 PSAC East victory Wednesday night at Decker Gymnasium.
 
Becky Evans scored the first points of the game for Mansfield, but Shippensburg (15-9, 11-7 PSAC) jumped out to a six-point lead at the 15:34 mark. A pair of free throws and a 3-pointer by Kelly moved the Mounties within one point at 8-7.
 
Shippensburg built its lead up to 11 points at 25-14 with 5:45 remaining before jumping out to its biggest advantage of the half at 17 points. The Lady Raiders went into halftime leading 33-20.
 
Katie Fitzpatrick opened the second half with a lay-up for Mansfield (3-20, 2-17 PSAC) to close within 11 points, but Shippensburg went on a run over the next five minutes to hold its biggest lead of the game at 20 points.
 
Mansfield brought its deficit down to 11 points twice but couldn't overcome the Raiders.
 
Kelly hit five field goals in the game and went 6-of-8 from the line to record her fourth straight game in double-figure scoring. The reigning PSAC East Player and Freshman of the Week also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
 
Katie Fitzpatrick hit seven field goals on her way to 15 points. She also grabbed six boards. Tianna Jackson added five points while Evans and Mary Kate Rumbaugh scored four points each.
 
Morgan Griffth and Logan Snyder paced five Raiders in double-figure scoring with 14 points each. Griffith was dominant on the boards with 15 points to record a double-double. Stephanie Knaur also notched a double-double of her own with 10 points and 12 boards.
 
Mansfield was held to just 26.9% (7-26) shooting from the floor in the first half and connected on 32.8% (20-61) of attempts for the game. Shippensburg hit 43.1% (25-58) of shots from the floor.
 
Mansfield travels to PSAC East-leading Bloomsburg on Saturday.
