MANSFIELD – Thomas Moore sunk six 3-pointers to lead six Mountaineers in double-figure scoring as Mansfield won its second straight in a 106-94 decision Sunday afternoon at Alfred State.
 
The Mounties shot a red hot 58.2% (39-67) from the floor including 59.3% (16-27) from beyond the arc. Mansfield's 16 3-pointers against the Pioneers is the most since totaling 18 at Seton Hill during the 2007-08 season.
 
It marks back-to-back wins for Mansfield who defeated Penn State Brandywine on Saturday.
 
Moore went 10-13 from the field and missed just one trey to score a career-high 26 points. The senior also dished out six assists.
 
Gerisimos Koutoufas knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to a career-best 18 points. Joe Marshall added 14 points and Da'Quan Jones 13 points with eight boards. Eric Lewis Jr. chipped in 12 points and Matt Tamanosky was just shy of his fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and nine rebounds.
 
Dior Dixon and Quadrelle Roberts paced Alfred State with 15 points each.
 
Mansfield scored the first seven points of the game and quickly raced out to a 17-2 lead in the first three-and-a-half minutes of play. The Mountaineers led 42-22 at the midway point of the period and went up by 25 points on a Seth Chisholm 3-pointer at the 3:15 mark.
 
Mansfield held a 61-42 lead at the break.
 
The Mountaineers led by 20+ points for much of the first five minutes of the second half, but an 8-0 run by the Pioneers cut the lead to 79-66 with 11:19 to play. Alfred State pulled within 10 points at 82-72 at the 7:44 mark was unable to close the gap.
 
Mansfield gets back in to PSAC East action on Tuesday when it travels to Lock Haven.
