FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Edinboro Uses Long Ball to Down Mounties
 
MANSFIELD – Edinboro hit 11 3-pointers in the game to down Mansfield 95-61 on Sunday in a PSAC crossover contest at McComb Fieldhouse.
 
Brielle Kelly and Katie Fitzpatrick led Mansfield in scoring with 11 points each. Princella McCullough and Becky Evans each added nine points and Megan McSwain eight. Fitzpatrick pulled down a team-best seven boards.
 
Edinboro's Lauren Hippo hit five treys while Katie Fischer hit four as the two combined for 43 points. Aignee' Freeland recorded 19 points and nine rebounds for the Fighting Scots.
 
Edinboro led 31-12 at the end of the first quarter before taking a 50-26 lead into halftime. Mansfield outscored the Scots in the third quarter 20-15, but the deficit was too great to overcome.
 
Edinboro hit 57.9% (11-19) of its shots from 3-point and cleaned up the glass outrebounding Mansfield 44-24.
 
The Mountaineers travel to Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday.
