MANSFIELD, PA –
Brielle Kelly led the Mountie with 16 points, but it wouldn't be enough as Mansfield dropped a 85-43 PSAC crossover to Edinboro Sunday afternoon at First Citizen's Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium.

Kelly was perfect from the line (3-3) and added her third trey on the season. The freshman also led Mansfield (1-12, 0-9 PSAC) on the boards with five rebounds.

Becky Evans and
Alyssa Mullins each added seven points for the Mounties. Evans had a team-high three assists.
Katie Fitzpatrick led Mansfield on defense with four steals and one block.

Edinboro (10-3, 7-2 PSAC) was led by Valerie Majewski with 22 points. Hope Mancini came off the Scots' bench to add 19 points, including five treys while Lauren Hippo rounded out Edinboro's double-digit scorers with 14 points. Aignee' Freeland had a game-high 12 rebounds, and Laurel Lindsay dished out a game-high eight assists.

Edinboro came out hot in the first two minutes going up 5-0 on Mansfield, but Kelly responded with a three-pointer to bring Mansfield within one possession of the Fighting Scots. Majewski then responded with a layup of her own to put Edinboro up four. A minute later, Evans scored a pair of free throws to bring Mansfield back within two. Over the next five minutes Edinboro would go on a 10-3 run.

Mullins brought Mansfield back within seven points with a jumper to bring the score to 17-10. However, Edinboro got away bringing the score to 41-23 at halftime.

Edinboro continued its performance in the second half, outscoring Mansfield 44-20.

The Fighting Scots were 52.2% from 3-point land to Mansfield's 20.0%. Edinboro outrebounded Mansfield 46-36.

Mansfield travels to Mercyhurst on Jan. 7 for their final PSAC crossover at 5:30 p.m.
